Monuments and historic buildings:
Blue Hills Hotel is located close to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. The mosque was built in 1609 by Architect Mehmed Aga. Hagia Sophia was used as a church. For 916 years and has a mosque for 481 years. It became a museum in 1935.
Topkapi Palace construction started in 1451 during Fatih Sultan Mehmet time. It was Ottoman Sultans residence until 1856.
During the siege, cisterns were built to supply water in ancient cities. Istanbul features several cisterns opened or covered. Basilica cistern is supported by 336 columns measuring 8m.
